Hello! I’m Juliet and I own Fancy Nancy. An established cake boutique based in Leigh on Sea, Essex. Together with my fab team at our shop I love to make exciting, innovative and fresh cake and cookie designs that taste as good as they look.

Lots of my designs appear in the monthly wedding magazines and international press including Wedding, Perfect Wedding, You and Your Wedding, Cosmo Bride, Brides, Red, Eve, Essex Wedding, London Wedding and Time Out and OK!.
As well as making cakes for hundreds of our lovely customers I’ve been lucky enough to make cakes for many celebrities and television features including ‘This Morning’ (ITV), ‘The Wedding House’ (Ch 4), ‘Theatreland’ (Sky) and ‘My Child’s Big Fat Birthday Party’ (BBC 1).
I strongly believe in using the best, high quality ingredients and use only free range eggs and as much organic stuff as possible. I also really think it’s important to use environmentally friendly packaging....all our cookie bags are compostable! Also our cake boxes in the shop are FSC sourced.
Our Wedding and Celebration cakes are recommended at many of the top wedding venues in London and the South East. As well as at our boutique in Leigh you can find our goodies in specially designed ranges in Harvey Nichols stores.
Wedding cake consultations are by appointment only. But you are welcome to come to Fancy Nancy and have a look at some of the cake designs or have a nose at us decorating through our open plan cake studio.

We were recently short listed for Shop of the Year by a House of Commons committee and also won the retail category of the Essex business Awards 2010. We also won the award for best Christmas shop window display for the second year running!
I love showing ‘young people’ all about making cakes. There’s a big trend for baking nowadays and we have tons of local kids in for their work experience at school. We let them loose on some elements of our production and teach them all about the cake world. I’ve met some gems in our time since opening Fancy Nancy and the goodun’s often get part time jobs. I also offer internships and have recently welcomed Dilek from Germany to work with us for 6 months. There’s a waiting list as its apparently one of the most ‘way fun’ jobs to do for work experience....beats shredding paper or sweeping up all day. Are they mad!?
